Joy House Private School: A Leading School Primed for Further Growth
Founded in 2014, Joy House Private School, a leading school in Maphaya area in Jozini in Kwazulu-Natal, is a first of its kind offering quality education with a low teacher-pupil ratio and one of the best Matric pass rates in the province. The school offers education from Grade R to Grade 12.
They started using the Rise system in January 2024.
Having their first Matric graduates recently and having achieved one of the best pass rates in the province, the school is well positioned and primed for success and is proud of its achievements on the school level and the Rise system level that has accelerated and supported their strong growth during the past two years.

Before Rise
Prior to Rise the school had manual processes for communication with parents, progress reports and the admin side of running the school. The manual work was causing a big workload, errors and waste of paper as well as not reaching parents with urgent communication. There was a basic accounting package in place but it was not for schools. Nor was it integrated with the admin side.
Accountants' recommendation of Rise
In 2023 the school’s accountants started doing their research for a bespoke all-in-one school system. They came across the Rise system and contacted the Rise system. Having held a meeting with the rise team and seen how the system works, they became even more confident that this could be a solution for the school.
And the rest is history and a reason to be proud of and celebrate great milestones of achievement on the Rise school management system front.

23 Educators have specifically benefited with automated and customized Progress reports. Before Rise, they had to produce progress reports on paper, which was causing a lot of problems, such as time waste, errors and parents’ unhappiness.
Bespoke Rise customization for the school's needs
Progress reports customization The school has achieved significant customization on in their progress reports, tailored specifically to their needs using the flexible settings provided by Rise. Rise gave them an option to customize their report into something that they want. This shows how flexible the Rise system is. Parents no longer have to ask for half a day to collect their children's reports; they can now be easily sent via the Rise Communicator app.

Joy House Private School managed to get 80% of the parents to download the app. One of the bursars from the school Fundile Mngomezulu mentioned that, “…is that we've introduced it to our school to be able to communicate to our parents and it is used by our teachers. I'll explain in a moment so it's an app that is downloadable you know via your Play Store your app gallery for Hawaii users and it's also available on the iPhones it can be downloaded by parents, teachers or even students for communication purposes so we use it to send out letters school news and updates and parents can also use it to view their child's behavior unpaid or paid invoices progress reports and they can also interact with their teachers with the school teachers or administrative personnel all right teachers can also use this app to record student grades and much more right.
You know during our meetings or parents meetings we would inform them that we want to switch to this app entirely for communication purposes including finance you know that's parents seeing invoices and payments on the app and also progress reports and what we would do is we would notify them via letters WhatsApp Facebook for them to download the app. Anna and her team make this process very easy because they have QR codes and instructions to follow so that your parents can be able to do...”
