Hanli Mostert, Finance Officer, Tygerberg Art Centre, Parow
During the later part of 2018, Hanli Mostert, Finance Officer at Tygerberg Art Centre, responded to an invite to attend a School Forum – “Rise accounting for schools”. Having just enrolled for a bookkeeping course, Hanli thought this would be a perfect platform to learn more about “best” bookkeeping practices. To her surprise, it was much more than a lesson on bookkeeping. It was a financial programme, communication platform and learner management – all-in-one for schools. Exactly what Tygerberg Art Centre was in need of.
Before Rise School Management
During 2018, Hanli was researching many other financial program available, as the one they were using was too expensive for limited functionality. To communicate with parents, they would use SMS bundles. It would cause more confusion than clarity due to a restriction on a number of characters per sms. To upkeep their learner database, they had to make use of SIMS and Excel. Thus, 4 different software packages were used to accomplish the same functions that Rise School Management can deliver alone.
Changing over to Rise school management
After signing up for the ALL-IN-ONE version, "what a delight It has been", according to Hanli. Even though the transition had not been a "plain sailing", Hanli experienced first hand that the Rise trainers were patient, helpful and went an extra mile. "They would always be there for me, steering me in the right direction, fixing problems, always accepting new ideas and challenges I had for the programme, with a smile and teaching me the correct way of doing bookkeeping", she says.
After the changeover to RSM
The ease in using RSM still amazes their Financial Team. - Payment allocation from the Bank Stream directly to a specific customer or supplier account. Access each learner’s full payment history at a click. - Reconciliation has become a breeze now. - Batch invoicing for the whole school, per grade is now possible. - Creating statements per grade and per subject is easy. - Budget plan-actual - “run a report” - one can immediately see what is happening in the Budget. - Parents can see what they paid on the app. Communicating with parents at a click with the Rise School Communicator. - WCED 043 - when allocating payments in the Bank Stream to the account of customer, RSM would automatically generate it in the WCED 043-form. “With RISE School Management, you will RISE above any challenges coming your way", Hanli Mostert, Finance Officer.
